In January 2008 National Express East Coast launched a cutting edge mobile timetable service.

Passengers can now download a full NXEC rail timetable to their mobiles, and only need connect to the internet once for the initial download. This makes it super fast, easy to use wherever you are - and cheap! So far, there are versions for 85% of phones.

The project, developed by Kizoom on behalf of Cityspace, was successfully completed at lightning speed, following handover of the East Coast route from GNER in early December.

The service ensures NXEC passengers will always have an up-to-date timetable in their pockets, saving paper, time, money and trees - and it keeps NXEC at the forefront of train operating companies in its use of mobile technology to help the travelling public.
