Data & process
NaPTAN data for each administrative area is created and maintained locally using the area's preferred editing tool, and then uploaded or downloaded using the appropriate tool. See also Guidance on preparing Local Public Transport data.
Licence to use NaPTAN data
Use of NaPTAN Data requires a licence - contact Thales.
Uploading Data
NaPTAN data is uploaded in either XML or csv format using either FTP or an upload browser provided by Thales

Downloading Data
NaPTAN data is downloaded in either XML or csv format using either FTP, or a by download tool provided by Thales
Viewing Data
NaPTAN data can be also viewed online using the viewer tool. This tool requires permission and a password from Thales.
