The Routes & Journey Patterns

  • There is a single Service instance SV1 , with two Line instances Ln_1 - 'A1' and 'Ln_2 -'B1'.
  • There are seven StopPoint instances.
  • There are two Route instances s ( R_1,R_2 ), each with a single RouteSection ( RS_1, RS_2 )
    • RS_1 has four RouteLink instances( RL_1, RL_2, RL_3, RL_4 ). Each link has two stop references ( RL_1a, RL1b , etc).
    • RS_2 has two RouteLink instances (RL_5, RL_6 )links respectively.
  • There are two JourneyPatternSection instances JS1 and JS2 ; corresponding to the two RouteSectioninstances, with corresponding journey pattern timing links.
  • The service is made up oftwo JourneyPatterninstances;
    • JP_1 , section: JS_1 , JourneyPatternTimingLink instances ( JL_1, JL_2,JL_3, JL_4 ), Each journey pattern timing link has two stop usages( JL_1a, JL1b , etc).
    • JP_2 , section: JS_2, JourneyPatternTimingLink instances JL_5, and JL_6 .
  • The service has aJourneyPatternInterchange ( JI_1 ) that connects the two journey patterns( JP_1, JP_2 )at specific journey pattern timing link stop usages
    • inbound: JI_1a to JL_3b ,
    • outbound: JI_1b to JL_5a ).
  • There are four VehicleJourneyinstances:
    • VJ_1, VJ_2, VJ_3 , for line: Ln_1 - 'A1' , over JP_1.
    • VJ_4 , for line: Ln_2 -'B1', over JP_2 .
  • The connection of the two journeys is modelled by two VehicleJourneyInterchangeinstances, one for each of the twovehicle journeys that connect; both reference the journey patterninterchange JI_1 .
    • interchange: VI_3_1 : for journey VJ_3 has, inbound: VJ_3 ,: outbound: VJ_4 ,
    • interchange VI_4_1 : for journey VJ_4 has inbound: VJ_3 ,: outbound: VJ_4 ).

The Operational Days

  • The Service operating period for SV_1 starts on 02/01 2002 for allvehicle journeys.
  • There is an OperationProfile and SpecialOperationProfile specified for the Service SV_1.
    • The OperationProfile of SV_1 states that unless otherwise stated, journeys of the service run Monday to Friday every week of the year.
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of SV_1 states that unless otherwise stated, journeys of the service do not run Christmas (i.e. Christmas Day & Boxing Day) New Year's Day, and Good Friday, but that they do run on all Bank Holiday Mondays.
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of SV_1 also states that all services are suspended between 10/12/2004 and 14/12/2004 regardless.
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of SV_1 also states that that unless otherwise stated, journeys of the service are subject to SpecialDays exclusion on 01/06/2004 when they will not run, and an inclusion on 02/06/2004 when they will run.
  • There are override instances of the OperationProfile and SpecialOperationProfile for vehicle journeys VJ_1, VJ_2, & VJ_4 , but not for VJ_3, which has the same valuesas the general service defaults for SV_1.
    • The OperationProfile of VJ_1 states that VJ_1 runs in the term time of serviced organisation Org_1 ( Dotheboy's ).
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of VJ_1 states that VJ_1 does not run on Mayday, differing from the general service defaults. VJ_1 still does not run on Christmas (i.e. Christmas Day & Boxing Day) New Year's Day, and Good Friday and Good Friday
    • The OperationProfile of VJ_2 states that VJ_2 runs Monday to Saturday.
    • The OperationProfile of VJ_4 states that VJ_4 runs on Wednesday on the first and third weeks of the month.
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of VJ_4 states that VJ_4 does run on New Years Day and Boxing Day, but not on May Day, again differing from the general service defaults . VJ_4 still does not run on Christmas day and Good Friday.
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of VJ_4 states that VJ_4 does not run specifically on 02/05/2004, but does run on 5/08/2004.
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of VJ_4 states that VJ_4 is suspended between 5/08/2004 and 08/08/2004 and also between 6/08/2005 to 09/08/2005 .
    • The SpecialOperationProfile of VJ_4 states that VJ_4 is subject to a SpecialDays exclusion on 02/05/2004 when it will not run, and an inclusion on 01/06/2004 when it will run, regardless of the SV_1 exclusion.
  • The JourneyPattern for JP_1 has a SpecialDaysexclusion period of 11/1/2004-11/11/2004, and an inclusion period of 12/12/2004 to 12/12/2004 ; these apply to all the journeys ( VJ_1,VJ_2, and VJ_3) which depend on the pattern.
  • The VehicleJourney instance for VJ_2 has a FrequentService instance with a maximum frequency of 15 minutes.
  • The VehicleJourneyInterchange instances VI_3 & VI_4 which connect VJ_3 and VJ_4 have a validity period from 02/01/2004 to17/10/2004.
