To use the TransXChange schema, you may either reference the appropriate URL for a particular version of the schema, or use a local copy of the schema files and directories for that version held on your own machine, which you can download from this site. This page provides the information you need to reference or download schemas.

Further information on the substructure of the schemas is given in the TransXChange Schema Guide (available in different versions in the Documentation column below.).

!!!Please note that if you use the XML Spy tool from Altova GmbH to view downloaded schemas off-line, then if your computer is not connected to the internet you may see an error message at load time indicating that the referenced subschema xml.xsd schema cannot be found. The subschema xml.xsd contains the lang attribute. The message is shown even though xml.xsd is present in the download directory structure and referenced by a catalog. The error is an artefact arising from shortcomings in XML Spy's implementation of W3C catalog standards, and may be ignored. Other tools such as parsers and validators should work correctly.
!!! Users of XML SPY are recommended to obtain XMLSPY 2006 (Feb 2006) which fixes a number of serious errors in the validator. Also should be aware of an error in handling choices that contain groups, for which a workaround version of the NAPT date types is provided. Note that TransXChange uses a systematic versioning scheme in line with e-Gif standards.

Alternative version of 2.1\napt\NaPT_dates-v2-0.xsd Workaround for XMLSPY validator error. Recodes the bank holiday day types without using groups. This is semantically equivalent to the normal Naptan date package. Use this instead of the regular NaPTAN package in /napt directory if you use the XMLSPY 2006 validator.
